Air Filter (early type)

Jabiru 2200A Old style oval air filter Briggs and Stratton Oval Air Filter (Ref: BP399806S)

You will find it being sold on this website if you CLICK HERE and from any Briggs and Stratton dealer. It’s a Briggs and Stratton air filter cartridge, as used on selected 10 - 12 hp Vertical engines. Approx Dimensions: 8 5/8" L x 2 5/8" W x 2 3/4" H

Price:£16.98 (Including VAT at 17.5%)

Air Filter (late type)

The later square flat panel filter is the same size as the air filter fitted to Vauxhall Cavalier and Astra 1.7 Turbo Diesel engines in the late 80s early 90s. Available from any motor parts dealer or Halfords.

just a note on the Vauxhall filters, ensure they have the mesh grill on them, I bought 1 and it does not have it otherwise they will be sucked through the air box and into the scat tube blocking your flow

I fitted a Briggs and Stratton from a mower place and it actually choked the engine and made it run roughly. I ended up throwing to away and hoovering the old one and putting it back. I'd had it over a year so didn't bother getting a refund.
Original cured the problem. I don't think some of the cheap ones have enough paper.
