Jabiru Fly In

Postby NigelW » Tue Oct 25, 2016 7:54 pm

Hi all,
I am based at Leicester (EGBG) with my SPL 450 along with a couple of other Jabs. I have been encouraged by members of the Management at Leicester to throw a warm welcome to the members of the Jabiru Owners Group and arrange a 'fly in' one weekend.
I am happy to liaise with the members as to whether they would like to take up this invitation and fix a date to suit all interested owners/pilots.
It would be a great opportunity to meet like minded Jabiru owners and exchange views and knowledge. I know the Jabiru club in past years was very active and enjoyed many successful and enjoyable events. Perhaps now would be a good time for us all to get together and reinvigorate the camaraderie of like minded Jab folk.
Please post on the forum any views/ideas you have on this and any dates you feel would be good.
Leicester has all the facilities required with a great choice of into wind runways and all the usual food and drink requirements available.
I look forward to your responses.
Regards
Nigel W

Hi Nigel, nice idea but have to say a bit deja vu and spooky...
We had a Jabiru fly in at Leicester a few years back, and it did indeed go well.
Although after a lot of interest only about 5 jabs turned up.
If I remember rightly it was organised by a Leicester based Jab owner...Richard?
Any how, good idea and I'm up for it, just let me know when!

Now being un employed and 0 income I will have to give it a miss, but any none aircraft jab fliers are welcome to take my white horse on a trip to clear it out, or buy it.

Thanks for the replies guys!
Clive: I remember meeting you at the last one at Leicester. It was organised by Gary Phillips, still a Jab owner and still at Leicester. I remember the weather being grotty that day hence the poor turnout.

I do not have any specific date in mind but am thinking it might be to busy for people in December. Mid January springs to mind obviously subject to weather but I can get a little feed back what would suit I think setting one date as plan A and another plan B date a couple of weeks later in case the weather does its worse.

Please let me know what you think. The more the merrier!!

Generally not much on weekends until 11th Jan, then away for a spell.
Might succumb to the attraction of a short notice trip to the canaries tho....
Be more about the weather this time of year...
Just pick a date and keep moving it as weather let's us down?

I would definitely be up for it and I probably know a couple of other people that would come along as well.
