Jabiru Valve Reamers and Measuring tool

Jabiru now stock valve guide reamers and go/no go sets to measure your valve guides

Go/no go gauges are the easiest way to check your valve guides are within tolerance. The set includes one 7.04mm gauge and one 7.06mm gauge. The valve guide reamer will ensure that when used on tight (undersized) guides, it will leave a perfect 7.04mm guide.

7.04mm is the minimum bore size for valve guides. Anything less will heighten the risk of valve grab (sticky valves), which can lead to valves not sealing correctly, and if left unmaintained, will possibly cause the valve to ‘stick’ in the guide and collide with a piston.

Occasionally there are reports of maintainers and owners using the “calibrated wiggle test” to measure valve guides. This inaccurate method can possibly result in an engine being destroyed or valves guides being replaced when not necessarily needed. To assist owners and maintainers we have sourced this simple set of inexpensive tools to make the job easier for appropriately qualified people to use.

Give spares a call today on 07 4155 1778 or email us direct and order your set for $38.50 inc gst (Set includes reamer and 2 x go/no go gauges)

That's about 18quid, I wonder how much they'll end up as retail in the UK.

Having never dealt with the valves, yet, I'll defer to those who have but are these a worthwhile purchase, and if so, is it worth grouping together and contacting Jab direct?

I would buy a set.
Has anyone I wonder checked prices from an engineering supply over here?

Be interesting to put some calipers on them and see how close they actually are

If Skycraft end up selling them, then you can at least treble that price.
