Microair harness to a new radio

Postby Garyo » Sat Dec 23, 2017 8:13 pm

My jab is fitted with a microair radio via a headset interface air duo I think the name is.
So if I fitted a handheld or a panel mount funke or something what is the hassel in making a patch cable from the D sub that plugs into the microair to the new radio or the handheld. Had anyone done this
Jabiru 450 UL
Engine serial 1041
1 CHT sensor on No 4 under plug
No Exhaust temp sensors
No glass panel
No xponder
Microair radio
No bells and whistles
Its been like this for 13 years, what I cannot see I cannot worry about in flight.....

Not seen this. Do you have standard GA headset connectors somewhere or is it special plugs for the headsets? If it is standard then I don’t see any reason you cannot make up an adapter. In any case, it’s no big deal making up a new wiring loom.
