Aluminium fuel tank for earlier Jabs SK, UL, SP and SPL

Postby diablo » Mon Jun 10, 2019 1:14 pm

As existing 65lts behind the seat fiberglass tanks are starting to fail and replacement costs are very high, I am looking at commissioning a sheet metal workshop to build a replica tank in aluminium and was wondering if there is any interest out there. I was thinking of increasing capacity to 80lts which will not require much extra space.

Any takers ?

Hi, not had any problems so far, has there been a run of failures?

Any ideas on likely costs?

As with anything, it is going to be down to numbers. Preliminary discussions on making a prototype, considering design, materials and time, le to figures in the 300-400 region.
