Fuel Flow Meter Issue

Postby seanxair » Thu Jul 23, 2020 9:06 am

My fuel flow meter which feeds into a Brauniger digital panel has developed a fault of some sort and is stuck at a 5lph flow rate - the default lowest I think.

Are these serviceable or is it a replace job?

Thanks

Hi, my initial thoughts would be the in-line fuel flow sensor. These can become worn and even jamb causing fuel flow issues.

If it is the sensor, these can be found on line but you would need to find one with the same pulse count as the original so a bit of detective work necessary.

Looks like it may be a loose wire from in line flow sensor at the panel back. Meter opened and clean and working on a blow through. It is actually labelled as a Brauniger sensor.

Waiting to engine run now to check

That's great if it's as simple as that, good luck testing

Still not working and don't know why. Terminals to the panel are now good as far as I can see and unit itself is running. Just no reading. Why do things just stop working..... :x

Hi again, have you removed the sensor and checked that the little turnwheel inside is rotating correctly?

I have known them get stuck with a foreign body and also the little plastic spigots on the sides can either wear down or even break off.

Yes Mike. Opened it up and clean as a whistle. Reassembled and blew through it and turning freely.
